Assume that your town is a food desert and you would like to do something about it. Prepare an argument to present to your local town council that outlines an idea to offer healthy food options to your town. Use at least one ethical theory or perspective to support the moral or ethical reasoning for why this program should be implemented.
I would propose the creation of a Hydroponic and Aquaponic Hybrid Farm. This kind of set-up would let a community produce a portion of their own food supply. The benefits of this is that people would be able to build a cooperative in their neigborhood which would provide healthy food options such as fruits, vegetables, and simple livestock such as fish and chicken. This technique involves the use of nutrient rich water that would supply all the needs of the plants to grow healthily. The nutrients can be applied directly into the water or be sourced from animal droppings from chicken or fish. The growth cycle of the plants can be regulated via a controlled system and environment in order to get maximum efficiency. (Gale, et al. 2019)
Justice in the neigborhood can be implied through the creation of this policy because it empowers the community to take responsibility of their local environment.
