A's Post:
The new stages between adolescence and early adulthood would show how individuals left behind their dependency because going through different stages of life people would have more responsibilities. For example, going away to college and learning how to be independent but still having a hard time taking on an adult role and still relying on your parents'money. Ages 18-25 is a very crucial period for figuring out their own identity as well as changing jobs and getting into new relationships. This stage in life could be tricky because it is a learning period of how to become an adult while transitioning from being dependent on your parent's and trying to become more independent as an adult. The cultural aspect varies on your upbringing and where you grew up. Different countries have different standards of the OCDE which means economic co-operations and development. Europe is one of the countries that offers generous support on emerging adults in their adult years by providing jobs or unemployment benefits for adults who cannot find work (Arnett,2007).
Some criteria that distinguish this new stage from adolescence is learning who your true identity will be and discovering career paths so you could manage life without your parents help. Emerging adults go through puberty and most likely leave their parents'house. Even though they gain some independence they still might also need their parents'help.
The new stage for early adulthood would be changing jobs and getting into relationships. Emerging adulthood with age of possibilities is a time where they become optimistic because their dreams have yet to be tested (Arnett, 2000,2006). Depending on a child and teen upbringing comes into play for when a teen becomes an adult. Their choices and decisions are based on their parents experience with growing them up.
The name that fits this age is emerging adulthood. Such as figuring out their identity, instability, self focus and feeling in between. All fits with the new stages in life between adolescence and early adulthood.

A, thank you for such an insightful post. Your analysis of the “emerging adulthood” stage creates new knowledge in the human development process. As noted by Lally and Valentine-French (2017), human development from childhood to adulthood is a process that bears disjointed transitions. Conventional psychologies accorded human development a smooth transitional perspective in which people move from childhood to adolescence and adulthood with limited explanation of what happens at the exact points of transition. While the developmental processes are not similar for every individual, it is notable that emerging adulthood is important to every person. It is the point at which people showcase their chosen paths in life. Your sentiments are affirmed by Arnett (2007) who showed that emerging adulthood is one
