I like how Harris refutes the notion that an adult's personality is mostly defined by how their parents nurtured them. Evidently, she examines studies that purport to demonstrate the impact of the familial milieu and contends that the majority of them fail to account for genetic variables. I agree and hope everyone would agree that if children brought up by violent parents become more aggressive, this is not always proof of parental emulation. Or is it possible that aggression is inherited from parents?
In the second write-up, "Nurture Assumption Under Trial," Harris (2011) proceeds to refute the claim that a child's behavior is influenced by genetics and hereditary factors. I followed how Harris analyzes the lives of actual children with a new view, demonstrating that what matters most to them is what they encounter outside the family, in the midst of their peers. I believe that behavior is significantly unrelated to genetics.
