Other (Not Listed) Instructions:

Part 1:
From Ch 12 . I want students to apply some of those concepts to current events and/or your every day life situations.
Paragraph 1:  Choose TWO concepts that you found most interesting as well as challenging in the Social Psych chapter, excluding concepts from the discussion assignment.  Explain these concepts in your own words, minimize use of long direct quotes.  If you use short direct quotes, be sure to follow with more elaboration.  Don't forget to cite the book!
Paragraph 2:  Tell a personal story, or observation that relates to the 2 concepts you've chosen.  You should arrange in 4 paragraphs, topic one (paragraph 1 &2) then topic two (paragraph 1 & 2).
Part 2:
Ch 14 Stress and Health
Take a deep breath.  Okay, here's this assignment related to stress.
Paragraph 1:  Tell your story about the ways you usually cope with stress, perhaps related to daily challenges like school, work, or relationships. These coping strategies could be ones that work for you, and even ones that aren't effective for you.
Paragraph 2:  From the Stress/Health chapter, choose ONE concept in the chapter that you feel matches closest to your current method of coping, then choose ONE MORE concept from the chapter that you feel you can try to use in your life as a positive way to deal with future stress.  Don't forget reference (the book) and explain each concept.

Reminder notes:
I don’t want a traditional academic paper from you. This is a journal, right?  BUT you do need to include a reference like, “According to our book (or text)” each time you are explaining concepts, or challenge yourself to improve your use of APA style.  Be as creative as you like in your writing, I want to read essays that sound like you, not a text book.  So you better not copy and paste from any website or the book, just explain things in your own way (but it still has to make sense!).

Social influence, on the other hand, is the process by which individuals' thoughts and actions are shaped by the presence and actions of others. It includes conformity, obedience, and compliance. Social influence can be positive or negative, and it can have a significant impact on an individual's behavior.
In my personal life, I have experienced cognitive dissonance when I had to make difficult ethical decisions. I had a job that required me to follow specific ethical guidelines, but I found out that the company was engaging in practices that violated those guidelines. I struggled with this conflict of values, feeling a sense of moral distress, and eventually decided to leave the job. As for social influence, I can think of a time when I conformed to a group's behavior despite not agreeing with it. At a concert, everyone around me stood on their chairs to get a better view. Although I did not want to, I also found myself standing on my chair because I never wanted to be the odd one out.
Part 2
When coping with stress, I tend to use exercise and social support. I find that going for a run or hitting the gym helps me release tension and clear my mind. Additionally, talking to friends and family abo...
