Career Development of Elementary School Students
Interview an elementary school student about his/her career development (It is important that you do not reveal the child’s name). Ask this student:
• What occupations does she/he think are possible for him/her.
• What occupations he/she thinks may not be possible.
• What occupation he/she would choose if he/she could choose anything.
• What she/he thinks is attractive about the occupation. From the interview, what stands out to you about children and career development? Does anything you learn remind you of particular career development theories? How?
The student will then post one original thread of at least 400 words and must support their assertions with at least 2 scholarly citations in APA 7th edition format. by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday of the assigned Module: Week. Acceptable sources include course materials, scholarly peer-reviewed sources, and/or the Bible.

Elementary school students have several careers that they consider possible to them. Upon interviewing one female elementary school student, there were several careers that were possible to her. The student named animal science, medicine, accountancy, architecture, graphic design, video game development and engineering as the careers possible for her reason being that they get to learn some skills related to these careers with the kind of activities they are engaged in in school as well as the encouragement they get from their teachers.
The student would not consider becoming a janitor, library assistant, daycare teacher or even a security guard. The fact that they are in school with an aim of acquiring a degree is the reason why she would want to consider those fields as part of her career.
