Interview with the Vampire Name: Institution: Course: Date: Louis's brother was engaged in an accident and it takes place before Louis is attacked by Lestat, a vampire. Lestat attacks Louis by drinking his blood and leaves him for dead. Later he comes to turn Louis into a vampire. Louis takes on a guilt trip, as he blames himself for his brother's death. He feels that he could have protected him better and the loss is overwhelming for him. Having experienced too much trauma in his life, Louis seems to feel desperate in believing rather in the devil than in God. He is surrounded by too much suffering, evil acts and persons, that the idea of God seems impossible. Ideally, Louis does not choose to become a vampire as he turned into one by Lestat.
