Policies are implemented in an educational institution to promote students’ safety, orderliness, and discipline. In that light, learners should always adhere to them since these regulations are enacted for their benefit. When one violates the established regulations and procedures, the person should come forward and accept the mistake. If policies are ignored students’ lives can be endangered. As such, I have learned that it is always crucial to comply with the school’s policies since they are implemented to ensure that students benefit maximally.
I violated the school’s policies by failing to adhere to the published regulations and procedures of residential education. Specifically, the policies were regarding life safety in the college-owned residential facilities. I am supposed to be responsible for my luggage by placing it without blocking the door or entrance to the dormitory or hostel. These policies exist to foster learners’ safety, and they serve an important purpose. For example, in the case of an emergency, it can be difficult for students to flee a dormitory if the way is blocked by suitcases or luggage. That’s why it’s crucial to ensure that the entrance or exit is always clear in the residential facilities.
I accept that my behavior was inconsistent with the college’s expectations. In particular, I left my suitcases right behind my dormitory door, which is against the residential facilities’ regulations.
