Individual Project Name Institution This paper summarizes the responses given by an interviewee in a recent interview that I conducted. I interviewed my brother Davis in an attempt to understand his views with respect to the current developments in the English club soccer. Davis is a lover of English soccer so I designed a questionnaire that sought to capture his views about recent developments in English soccer. The interview was conducted in our backyard just after watching an intriguing match between Manchester United and Chelsea. These clubs are arch rivals and they command millions of fans not only in England, but also abroad (News Source, 2013). At the end of last season, Sir Alex Ferguson, the longest serving coach in the history of club football, retired as Manchester United’s manager (Herbert, 2013). In the current season, Jose Mourinho returned to Chelsea as the manager having left the club five years ago (News Source, 2013). Manchester United is the successful club in the history of English football and this success is attributed to its longest serving manger Sir Alex Ferguson (Herbert, 2013). Many soccer analysts have argued that since Sir Alex Ferguson has retired, Manchester United will cease from being the strongest English club, and Chelsea will take this role (News Source, 2013). Davis is a solid supporter of Manchester United. The next section summarizes his responses. Do you think Manchester United will struggle in the absence of Sir Alex Ferguson? Davis opposed vehemently the perception that Manchester United will struggle in the absence of Sir Alex Ferguson. He thinks that although the management of the club has changed, the club will continue to excel since players have not changed. Davis contended that the new coach ought to inform the players about his intended strategy. After that, training will be essential so that players acquaint themselves with the requirements of the new strategy. In addition, according to Davis, the new coach must borrow ideas from the strategy formerly employed by his predecessor.
