Directions: Create a brief written and artistic response that applies the week's topic to your Final Project location.
Grading Criteria: Nature Journal entries will be graded on:
Detail of responses, including - length of responses (approx. 2-3 paragraphs each), specific examples, personal examples, examples, data, and details from quality sources, connections with lectures and other course materials, etc.
Credit given to sources, including - footnote citations (Author, Title, Link), mention of which text/source is being referred to in writing, etc.
Thoughtful reflection, including - critical consideration of the prompt, inclusion of personal reflections, reviewing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges of a proposed solution or source, etc.
Artistic response, including - original drawing, sketch, collage, or other creation; art piece/media by another artist with attribution/citation

What is the water quality like in your region? What are the primary pollutants, and where do they come from? Are there particularly polluted bodies of water of note (drinking water or surface water bodies)?
Identify an organization that operates in your region and addresses air quality, water quality, and/or environmental justice. What is their mission? What’s an example of a campaign or initiative they’ve run in your region, and what was the projected/realized impact?
Artistic Response Ideas: map of air or water quality, infographic about air or water quality, profile of an environmental justice leader or organization in your region...
