About UCLA Medical Center
UCLA Medical Center was started in 1919 as a non-profit organization to help millions of people get access to quality health care. The clinic operates as a hospital and a research organization for academies and research institutions seeking to develop cure for millions of people suffering from different sicknesses. The clinic is involved in academic research, treatment, and cure of diseases (UCLA Medical Center, 2018). The goal of UCLA Medical Center is to provide maximum health care to people in need as well as creating a healthy community free from diseases. UCLA is located in Rochester, Minnesota and currently serves a population of more than 1.5 million people across the United States.
In this era of technological changes, data interoperability has become an essential component in communication systems. Data interoperability allows connected computer systems to communicate and exchange information for efficient service delivery (Brooks, 2013). UCLA is aware of the advantages that interoperability holds for service delivery in management and processing of healthcare data and it is interested in making every effort to integrate it in its system. Integration of interoperability in UCLA healthcare system will ensure that patient data is safe, health records are safe, personal data is accessible, and there is easy access to data for research comparability. To facilitate service delivery and provide maximum attention as the institution interacts with the community and its environment, UCLA Medical Center is currently seeking interested vendors to facilitate the supply and setup of data interoperability. All the addressed areas of concern are discussed below.
