Chronic Kidney disease, commonly known as chronic kidney failure is a medical condition that is attributed to the gradual loss of kidney function in excretion. The primary cause of kidney disease is attributed to the damage of the kidney by medical conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, and prolonged obstruction of the urinary tract (Copstead, & Banasik, 2013).
Symptoms
The condition is a progressive illness that presents symptoms over time as the kidney continues to damage. Patients with chronic kidney disease experience the following signs and symptoms: nausea, sleepless nights, itching skin, high blood pressure, fatigue, and appetite loss.
Management
There is no specific treatment for chronic kidney disease. However, the condition can be managed to reduce the prevalence of the symptoms. Maintaining a healthy diet and avoiding drugs and substance abuse are the primary ways of managing the condition of chronic kidney disease.
