From this week's study, I have gotten to know that technology has a significant impact on our daily life, both physically and psychologically. When we spent much time in front of our computers or phones, we may be happy at the time, but after that we feel much more lonely or anxious. I think the usage of techonology is one of the reason why many students become anxious and stressful. With them, we just get short-time happiness, and after that we realize that we have lost so much time. So I think we should learn how to manage that problem.
The article I want to share with you is Faruk and Tahsin's "Holistic Technologial Addiction of Modern Age: Phubbing", which shows people the negative effects of the use of technology. The overuse of high technology, such as smart phones or computers would let people fail in many things, like study, social interaction, emotional changes, and so on. It points out that everyone should learn to use the technology wisely and moderately. This article is relevant to what we have learned this week because both of them show us that high technology is a two-side sword and all of us should learn to use them in a moderate way to live a healthy life.

From this week's study, I have learned that social media (SM) usage and stress might disrupt a young individual's sleep. Nevertheless, there is limited evidence to support this hypothesis. Many young people are spending more time on the SM. Researchers conducted a survey that included 1,441 adolescents between the ages of 11 and 15 years (Van der Schuur, Baumgartner, & Sumter, 2019). They found out that SM stress and use are positively related to daytime sleepiness and sleep latency. SM use might affect young people's sleep in three different ways. First, the time displacement hypothesis states that adolescents' time in SM might encroach on the time available for sleeping. Second, the use of SM increases physiological arousal, which makes it hard for teenagers to sleep. Third, exposure to bright screen lights from electronic gadgets may disrupt the secretion of melatonin, a sleep hormone.
The concepts obtained from the article and the course readings are significant in life. For example, a person has learned that using SM for an extended period might lead to sleeplessness among you...
