The evolution of information technology is among the profound markers of modern changes in healthcare. Today, some of the key trends include the expansion of telehealth and remote care services, EHRs evolution with new capabilities, predictive analytics, extensive data management, and artificial intelligence and machine learning. Telehealth & remote care, for instance, have enabled the provision of services remotely while EHRs are evolving to include new capabilities such as digital assistants (Evans, 2017; Rao-Gupta et al., 2018).
Each of these trends, however, has potential challenges and risks.
