Collaboration Diversity Project

Other (Not Listed) Instructions:

First, identify and describe a leader you would choose to lead a project like this and explain why. It can be anyone that is qualified, even someone famous. Your choice will tell me a lot about your leadership approach and priorities.

Next, select one of the characteristics that make them successful and compare it against your leadership skills. The second item is related to leading and fostering teamwork and collaboration among a group of interdisciplinary professionals.

We are looking for 4–6 members to serve on a committee who will be considering the diversity issue and ultimately making a recommendation on how to address it. I want you to:

 • Describe your role and approach to leading the group. How will you lead and communicate? Will you be an authoritative, collaborative, democratic, servant, or transformational type of leader? Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of your approach in the context of thisproject.

• Describe how you would facilitate collaboration to maximize team effectiveness. You might consider: o Communication technologies. o Practices (accountability, decision making, delegating). o Techniques for sharing information and ideas. o Any others ideas you might have. Remember this information will be shared with the clinic director so keep it clear, focused, and professional. Creativity is important; however, we want to be sure that your ideas and approaches align with current health care organization trends and practices, so include references from current academic or professional resources to support your points. 2 I have confidence in you!

Re: Collaboration Diversity Project
Hello, it is a blessed morning, and I say this because of the chase you gave me to lead the Lakeland clinic. I am very happy that my abilities have been recognized and appreciated. That is why I am happy to help with this project that will be conducted at the lake land clinic. Given that the locality the location of the Lakeland clinic is part of Haitian culture, we need first to understand and take in mind their culture and tradition in terms of health and also the way of their lifestyle. To solve this, I would like to have a meeting for all the clinic's members and staff and a brief introduction to the history, culture, and beliefs of the Haitian people and connect this to how the clinic has been operating. Any practices of the clinic that seem to counteract Haitian culture and belief should be removed or should be lessened in the clinic. This first step will ensure that every clinic staff member is well aware of the background of the people they are serving, thus leading to more effective and interactive communication between patients and medical professionals (Wherton et al., 2021).
Correctly choosing employees is much needed to solve the problem of patients being uncomfortable going to the clinic. I suggest that Haitian natives or medical professionals with Haitian genes should be chosen for the job and put into the clinic with this approach. The locals of the community around the clinic will be more confident knowing that their medical professionals understand their beliefs and culture (Koenig, 2004). Also, it can affect them unconsciously because when people see others with the same culture, beliefs, and appearance as them, they can be more comfortable. After all, they know that those people have grown up in the same environment they grew up in. Healthcare professionals can better customize treatment programs to match the needs of their patients when they comprehend and respect their cultural ideas, customs, and values. Better health results, patient satisfaction, and adherence to prescribed treatments may result.
These are some of the internal changes I am suggesting, but I also want to take things further by making an external effort. I suggest having a medical drive to local communities where Haitian people are concentrated. This drive will offer free medical consultations. The main goal of the drive is to get to know more about the community of the Haitian people but, most notably, to show that locals of that people at the clinic are very much approachable and have significant cultural sensitivity (Rice & Galbraith, 2008). Providers that are culturally aware are better able to communicate with their patients and address touchy subjects like mental health or end-of-life care. This may encourage patients to share more personal information with their healthcare professionals, leading to more efficient treatment.
I would choose Michelle Obama as the project's leader. She is a well-known public figure with a history of advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion. As a former first lady, she is a skilled communicator and has experience dealing with various communities. She is also a major proponent of work-life balance, which...
