Tina and Mookie are blessed with a son named Hector. Salvatore owns the restaurant and has been living in that region for twenty five years.
Pino is the son to Salvatore, Salvatore is an Italian-American in origin. Pino does not like the blacks and decides to make the life of Mookie miserable. Vito is the son to Salvatore and a brother to Pino (Lee). Vito is a friend to Mookie a factor that makes Pino feel undermined. Pino feels that his cultural affiliation is superior to that of the black neighborhoods. Tension between Pino and Mookie indicates the cultural hate between the blacks and the whites in America.
