The Murder of Fred Hamptonis not an absolute recollection of the events that happened in 1964, but it is a film that tells a true story and then adds a bit of fiction to make it more thrilling. As he slept, armed police officers, allegedly serving a search warrant, fired into Fred Hamptonflat, killing Hampton and Mark Clark and hurting several other young members of the Black Panther Party (Haas, 41).
The Black Panther Party leader of Illinois chapter leader was a good orator and organized young people into political action for the first time. His brutal murder perplexed the world. He was too young to die. It was ashameful moment in Chicago history and politics. Why did they have to die, death justified as homicide. Just because of something they were not born with it? Or something they became on their own? It may be the best definition of racism, the danger in one`s color of skin? This was nothing but a Northern lynching ( Kirkpatrick, 62).

The movie brings out theme of abuse of power by state and its organs.It reveals a series of attempts to conceal the intolerable conduct of the law enforcement officials who carried out the raid. State's Attorney indicted the survivors of the raid with attempted murder of the police. And ruled Hampton's death justifiable homicide even with the damning evidence that the police shooting was unprovoked by the Panthers.
