Co-written with Andrei Konchalovsky and directed by Andrei Tarkovsky, Andrei Rublev is a Soviet biographical historical drama film that got 1969. The movie was re-edited and remade from the movie The Passion According to Andrei by Tarkovsky in 1966. The movie reflects upon the Andrei Rublev life who was an icon painter of Russia in the 15th century. The movie featured Irma Raush – the wife of Tarkovsky, Nikolai Burlyayev, Nikolai Sergeyev, Ivan Lapikov, Nikolai Grinko, and Anatoly Solonitsyn. Moreover, the scientific consultant of the movie was a renowned art historian and restorer of Russia, known as Savva Yamshchikov. The movie also reflects upon the critical background of Russia in the 15th century. A realistic portrait of medieval Russia has been depicted in the movie.
