The issue of diversity and inclusivity has been debated considerably in the 21st century. Often the debate has centered on the dire effects of ineffective consideration of diversity and inclusion. For example, introspection of the article diversifying NYS doctors by Myrie (2021) reveals that diversity complicates healthcare delivery in the United States, particularly in New York State. This revelation makes contemporaries grapple with several questions. In particular, is it possible to guarantee an underrepresented population of quality care? Can the outcome be achieved through policy formulation or employment? Myrie (2021) contends that “patients are more likely to visit, and follow instructions of, doctors with whom they share an ethnic or racial background.” This revelation makes me curious about how best racial bias can be tamed to ensure any patient, regardless of the ethnic classification, receives quality care?
