In his book, ‘‘Choosing Civility: The Twenty Five Rules of Considerate Conduct,’’ Dr. Forni identified the 25 most essential rules in connecting effectively and happily with others. Out of these 25 rules, the second rule: acknowledge others, the tenth rule: respect others' opinions, and the twelfth rule: be agreeable, stood out for me. These rules make Forni’s argument for civility outstanding. They best describe civility as the art of establishing respectful relationships with the community.
