QUESTION 2
Read the article, Types of Consultants, by McNamara in the readings. From the article, choose one type of consultant that best fits your style and personality. Explain why your choice and give an example of how you would use this to approach a future client.
I chose to do my consultancy as a management consultant. This because management consultants play an essential role in the success of a firm. Most of the core activities of the business that help it to perform better fall under the stewardship of the management. Management consultants help managers and other staff in the top hierarchy of leadership to be more efficient in problem-solving, planning, organizing, maximizing growth and ensuring they boost the performance of the business (Czerniawska).
I would approach my client using a systematic and planned approach. This approach has a well-structured procedure of identifying and solving problems, hence it is more likely to yield good results for the organization. Secondly, it involves the management in problem-solving hence it is easier to get to the root causes of problems and address them effectively. This approach would have the following phases:
a) Contracting Phase. I will look into the client’s problem and find a way to solve it.
B) Discovery Phase. It involves analyzing the preliminary information to ensure I find the cause of the problem and how to solve it.
C) Action Planning Phase. Working on achieving the specific goals that we have set.
D) Implementation Phase. I will ensure that implementation of the action plan is on the right track of conflict resolution.
E) Project Evaluation Phase. Reviewing whether the set goals are achieved, and the problem in focus gets solved.
F) Project Termination Phase. If set goals are realized, we end the process. If they are not fulfilled, we go back to an earlier stage.

The most important phase is the entry step. It includes the contact with the client, consultation with the customer on what he/she would want to improve in his or her firm. It also involves the importance of the consultant, description of their roles, preparing for their future assignment by the basis of problem analysis carried out and the bargaining and agreement of the contract.
Reasons
This phase lays the foundation for the entire consultancy phase. If the quality of work done in this phase is strong, then this ensures that the subsequent steps will also have quality results. If the foundation laid at this stage is not okay, then it may lead to poor results at the end of the project, and subsequently leading the contract to be canceled ("Planning & Consultation Stage | Services").
The client may not agree with the consultant if the proposal does not match up to every client’s needs and therefore no contract is agreed. This is the phase where one either loses or gains approval of a customer and therefore a contract is agreed on to work wi...
