Many philosophers have tried to find the connection between language and thought. Some, like Ludwig Wittgenstein, claim that it is not possible to think without using language, while others argue to the contrary. From an individual perspective, it is possible to think without language because the language system seems to be different from the brain regions associated with the ability to reason, plan, remember and make decisions. This shows that the various portions of cognitive experiences seem to be distinct from language. Evidence shows that deaf people think in sophisticated ways before being exposed to sign language (Ivanova, 2019).
