Food In Film And Literature

To build a strong foundation for the coming weeks, it is helpful to share your reasons for selecting this particular course. In other words, in the course description or other course information influenced your decision to sign up for this class as opposed to another? Is your interest in this course personal, professional, or a combination of the two?

Reflect on your experiences with literary works and films. What have you learned over the years about yourself when reading and watching movies for pleasure as opposed to engaging in the same tasks in an academic setting?

What, if any, questions do you have about the course content, the lay-out and structure of the course, or any of the course activities such as the discussion forums and weekly reflections?

What, if any, challenges might make it difficult for you to meet the midweek discussion forum deadline or the end of the week deadline?

Because this is a literature class, we will be using the conventions of working with sources outlined in the latest Modern Language Association (MLA) style guide to which you were introduced in ENG 1020 or its equivalent. Briefly indicate any questions you have about working with signal phrases and in-text citations   that help us develop meaningful analyses of the assigned texts and films throughout the term. Also, identify any questions you may have about working with outside sources before we begin our work.

Most importantly, be sure to reach out with any questions or concerns as they arise during the term. Keep in mind that our ability to communicate is fundamental for a successful term.
