In the first half of the 19 century, transport and communication development was rampant and tremendously influenced the economy of the United States as people would easily transport goods and services. There was extensive construction of roads, railways, and canals throughout the United States of America. In 1825, the Erie Canal was completed to connect the Great Lake region with the Atlantic Ocean through the Hudson River. The canal was efficient as it reduced the cost and time of raw materials, which was a success for economic growth and industrialization. Also, Samuel Morse developed the telegraph in the 1840s to ease communication. This promoted and enhanced business transactions and communication with individuals in long-distance transactions. Additionally, there was the construction of railroads and steamboats which had a ripple effect on the US economy. People could easily communicate and transport commodities effectively.

The Era of Good Feeling in America is the time between 1815 to 1825 when the US experienced a moment of political harmony just after the 1812 war. During this period, America experienced a period of unity and the Federal party collapsed and gave way to the Republican party as the ruling party in America.
