Labor studies have exposed me to various concepts and techniques that will enable me to pursue my career. Under labor studies I have done; Introduction to Labor Studies and Employment Relations, Short Topic on Works, History of Labor and Work in US 1880 to 1945, NJ Labor History, Social Media in Workplace, Latino Workers in the US , Employment Law, Organizational Behavior and Work, Current Labor Problems and Issues in Work. I have been able to understand concepts in the field of labor & employment relations, and I can apply them to understanding modern developments in work. I have also been able to passionately comprehend and synthesize ideas from various sources and develop new insights.
The study of labor economics helps to study the behavioral changes between employers and employees. It is essential to understand the dynamics of work relations when dealing with employees. In management, labor studies can be applied in making decisions on hours of work and wage structure. The knowledge acquired in labor studies has changed my perspective on the fixation that the customer comes first. Labor economics seeks to establish that the productivity of a company starts from the employees. If employees are motivated enough and given priority, the production level will increase. Through work experience, one can learn the significance of the structural organization of a company.
Labor studies are essential in understanding the role of departments that deal with employees, such as human resources and the importance of interrelations between workers.
