The article Do Artifacts Have Politics by Langdon Winner is one of the readings that I found most interesting in this week's reading. I found the article interesting because it addresses a vital topic on the relationship between artifacts (technology) and politics. In this article, the author argues that artifacts carry political properties, which implies some form of authority and subordination. Therefore, we should pay attention to the properties of technology that we use or interact with to get to know and see the meaning of these properties (Garvey, 2021). For instance, in his article, Winner gives examples of some of the artifacts in society that may appear not to have any political significance, but a closer analysis reveals that they indeed express certain forms of power (Winner, 1980).
