Types of Technology Employed in Networking Protocols and Standards
There are different types of technology employed in networking protocols and standards. Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), generally used for over-network communication, works by dividing messages into groups of packets at the source and later reassembling them once they arrive at the destination. Internet Protocol (IP) is another commonly used technology that compliments the TCP. The technology creates addresses that provide a clear route that message packets use to reach the intended destination. This prevents misdirection and data loss. Using both TCP and IP is the most common technology application in networking. File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is another type of advancement utilized by different software in the communication field. Files are transferred from one machine to another through this technology.
