The Goal of the Documentary Sex Trafficking in America The goal of the documentary Sex Trafficking in America is to expose the masked reality of sex trafficking, police tactics to unravel it, and the agonizing stories of the victim. This came after increased cases of sex trafficking were reported in Phoenix and Arizona for both female adults and children. Initially, the police criminalized prostitution and realized they were doing it wrong. However, after thorough research, police discovered that the perpetrators had dark websites such as Backpage and Craiglist, even though craigslist was shut down. In addition, the police responded to community complaints about increased prostitution and how young girls were coerced into prostitution. Women were powerless, and their body was controlled by traffickers and repeatedly sold for sex. Therefore, the main goal of the Sex Trafficking Documentary was to bring to light how women are used as an object to make money with their bodies and help improve America into a better society.
Evidence Presented
The presence of prostitutes on the street running away from the police and increased sex trafficking and exploitation cases in Phoenix and Arizona police stations show that the vices are indeed happening. This prompts the police to conduct research and commence their investigations to capture the perpetrators. Also, women confess to the presence of pimps who controls their activity and trade them for a percentage.
Notably, police officers discovered the website( Backpage) and used pseudo names and pictures to lure the perpetrators. The female police officers kept the perpetrators engaged in conversations and baited them for a physical meeting. They would send pictures and give in to their demands until the final day to meet. The traffickers arrange for a meeting between the buyer and the victim. They agree on a meeting point and time when the trafficker shows up to pick up the victim. At the meeting point, police are ready to arrest the trafficker as soon as they show up. They are taken to court, and the recorded conversations are used as evidence in the court of law.
