Charlie Chaplin is perhaps one of the most famous and outstanding figures in the film industry, especially comedy. Through his lifetime he has garnered many experiences that led him to pursue his art and field. His art is through the expression of his creative thoughts in script and story writing. Chaplin was able to manipulate the elements of film to create something new in field of film. His jokes and gags reflect an inner creativity that is both humorous and eye-opening. His topics range from how he bends reality through his silly characters and actions. In one of his movies, Gold Rush, the mood centralizes on Chaplin’s comedy, a unique embodiment of his mind and capability (Hall, 1931) . He shows this through his outstanding performance, including a flow to his character, emotion, and facial expression. All these elements, when combined together, bring about a very touching essence to the scene. The funny thing is that Charlie is able to do this in a very silly and yet witty methodology. The lack of words on his silent films amplify the audience’s emotional reaction through the use of mellow and dramatic music. (Sante, 1997)
