The reading is from chapter 14-17. I'm attaching chapter 14 & 15. I'll email you the other two chapter separate since there's a limit on attachments.
At the end of the article “The Severely Distressed African American Family in the Crack Era: Empowerment Is Not Enough” by Eloise Dunlap, Andrew Golub, and Bruce D. Johnson there are three questions listed (page 111). Choose one of these questions and answer it in.
For your other two questions, you can pick from the remaining 3 articles. Questions are asked on pages 119, 130, and 139. You only need to answer one of the three questions asked after each article. You cannot answer more than one question per article. This means that you should engage with two out of the three articles. In total, you will answer three questions in your journal reflection.

Question 1: How did the pharmacists' expert knowledge and education contribute to their misuse of the pharmaceutical drug? Is such a knowledge base or educational opportunity available to illegal drug users? Would a different educational approach for pharmacists reduce the potential for abuse?
Most of the pharmacists and experts have the knowledge regarding the pharmaceuticals. The pharmacists experience high motivation on their knowledge of pharmacology. Thus, they use their knowledge of pharmacology to develop the best methods of solving both their emotional and health problems. As a result, they justify their actions as personal application strategy to address such problems which lead to addiction. For example, a pharmacist who is an alcoholic may use cocaine to stimulate his brain and central nervous system that is always depressed by alcohol. However, these experts neglect the issue of addiction and dependence. Therefore, such actions come as a result of educational opportunity to use illegal drugs. Thus, a different educational approach for the pharmacists is necessary to reduce or curb the potential for substance abuse.
Question 2: Why do you think most drug dealers in the article were mostly men? Why they were mostly White? Is dealing in the university environment a sign of privilege? How might experience college drug dealers differ from lower-class dealers? What about risks and agents of control?
Most drug dealers are men according to the article since they are naturally prone to take risks. Men have the guts of taking risks compared to women hence the motivation for taking risks is as a result of the ego gratification and the pursuit of status. Also, most men aim to be rich quickly hence they find the drug dealing to be of much financial benefit. The issue of finance becomes the reason for covering the criminality of drug dealings. The pursuit of high status, peer pressure and recognition, as well as greed in men, makes them continue in drug dea...
