The question on whether to clone the Neanderthal man has constantly been raising debates across the globe. The hardest part about this issue has been the kind of progress in human cloning that would make this process ethical. In the past, cloning experiments have gone wrong. This means that knowledge on cloning is sketchy or the complexity of the process is beyond the current cloning knowledge base. Owing to this reason, we do not know what the consequences would be. It has been proven that humans do not share a similar brain with the Neanderthal man. Thus, the level of consciousness for humans and Neanderthals is quite different. It is assumed that the Neanderthal man had a speech but this does not add up as it is merely an assumption. Therefore, many people have regarded this whole process as unethical concerning the uncertainties associated with it.
Christians have been in the frontline in opposing human cloning. In the past they have opposed attempts to inflict cloning on humans. Non-Christians also share the same sentiments with Christians regarding cloning the Neanderthal man. It can, therefore, be safely said that this is not a religion versus science argument. Science experiments are a matter of trying and at times they fail. But in many occasions the errors in experiments are exceptional and are provided for in the instructions. The individual conducting the experiment is aware of the errors beforehand. This is not the case with cloning the Neanderthal man. The outcome is uncertain as there is no human with the Neanderthal DNA to make a comparison with.
Cloning the Neanderthal man means that a new species will have been brought onboard, and humans have to be responsible for this. When it comes to facing the reality, no individual would like to be the only species of the Neanderthal in the whole world. It would also be more unethical to clone more than one. Thus, there is no reason for cloning the Neanderthal man. Also, the possibility of killing the newly born Neanderthal baby is high. This is because the baby might be physically deformed, may not be able to thrive on the kind of foods we are used to, and genetic engineering scientists may not be able to provide the required environment that the Neanderthal baby can thrive in. it would be more convincing if the scientists that are eager to clone the Neanderthal baby first to create the environment this species used to live in. The damage and harm that would be caused by conducting this experiment would be far from being restored making it difficult to justify it.
It would be more desirable if scientists use aspects of genetic engineering to guarantee humans more immunity, and lowering the amount of fat in our arteries. Also, genetic engineering experiments require huge sums of money.
