The link chosen for a sociological analysis, The more alcohol ads kids see, the more alcohol they consume, is a news editorial on the CNN website written by CNN’s digital columnist and editor, Kerry Wallace. This article sociologically analyzes the effect of alcohol television advertisements on children and teenagers.
In analyzing this article, it is clear that children who are exposed to alcohol advertisements are influenced by the advertisements and there is a correlation between the exposure and how much of those alcohol brands they are likely to consume. The writer says that while she does not drink beer, her children, aged eight and ten actually know several beer brands by name (Wallace). Sadly, she is in a dilemma on how to regulate what her children watch as these advertisements airs during football games, which both she and her children love watching.
