Since time immemorial, the society has had a different point of view about women. Despite the tussles women encounter so as to achieve something, the public at large still views them as inferior. However, this has not deter them from trying to make it in life but it does pose as a challenge to a majority. Additionally, women also strive to make ends meet so as to look after the welfare of their children especially single mothers. However, the perception the society has of them does interfere with the achievement of their life goals. The dreams of being affluent, successful and significant people in the society are often tossed aside. The hustle and tussle of being employed needles them since they get rejected by very many companies. Certain jobs are regarded as having a set gender. Women are at times taken as incapable of working in an office. However, the hardships women encounter is the least of the society’s concern. It barely knows what they go through in order to have something to cling onto. Many people think that a woman who is virtuous and resolute only thinks of her own interest and ignores that of others. However, they are always perceived to be submissive to their husbands at all times. Many boys and men treat women as objects and toy around with them. They care less about their feelings as long as they are contented with their actions. Women are often expected to be responsive at all times when their spouses call for them. This essay therefore seeks to confirm that women indeed face many challenges as compared to men.
Employment opportunities have been scarce for women for many years. The credibility and reliability of employees is normally highly considered by the superiors. In most cases, both men and women get to work in the same area. However, women make less income than men. This is because women are believed to be less hardworking and they have to oblige by the rules set before them lest they lose their jobs. Many, therefore, continue working despite the kind of payment they get.
The priorities of the boy child are highly regarded than that of the girl child. Since long ago, the society believed that education for the boy child mattered most than that of the girl child. They saw no essence in educating the girl child. They believed that she had to stay at home and learn the basics of household duties and grow up having developed with the kitchen skills (Khan, 2012).
