This reflection paper focuses on the journal, “A brief summary of holistic wellness Literature,” written by Gorg Miller and Leslie Foster and the “6-Minute Guided Meditations” instructed by David Procyshyn. The two materials give an outline that leads to holistic wellness. Miller and Foster focus on defining holistic wellness and give the dimensions of wellness. On the other hand, David Procyshyn instructs on meditation activities that can help improve a person’s spiritual wellness.
Analysis
Gorg Miller and Leslie Foster do not specifically handle the issue of spiritual wellness broadly. However, they put across guidelines that can help one in having a holistic approach to life. This holistic approach helps to influence human wellness that consists of the body, spirit, and community interactions (Miller and Foster). They define wellness as multidimensional that involves the social, biological, and psychological aspects of people’s lives. From there, we understand that spiritual wellness needs other aspects of life to improve it because it should define life’s meaning and purpose (Smith). Some of these aspects that can improve spiritual wellness are having a set of values, morals, beliefs, and principles. I also think spiritual wellness can also be impacted by other wellness dimensions, such as physical, social, occupational, economic, and emotional wellness (Smith).
