Shakespeare's Hamlet outlines the story of Hamlet, who comes back from school to mourn his father's death. King Hamlet had died two months earlier, and therefore, his ghost reveals to Hamlet that the King had been poisoned by Claudius. Hamlet sets on a mission to avenge the death of his father. Shakespeare uses the theme of honor to develop the plot of the play as well as the various characters. Honor refers to the ability of a person showing esteem towards others as well as doing what is morally right. Honor has been used among different characters to differentiate their actions and in the development of both Hamlet and Fortinbras's characters.
Honor is the basis them for the play since most of the characters act by following the codes of honor.
