Right to Affordable Healthcare
United Nations (UN) declaration of human rights act states the right to life as a right to all people, among other rights. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines health as being completely well; mentally, socially, and physically. According to WHO, health is not merely lack of illness. WHO’S definition of health links health with well-being and visualizes health as a human right. Therefore, the question of whether all citizens have the right to affordable healthcare should not be in the contest.
Healthcare in the United States is considered one of the worst compared to other developed countries at its level. There is no universal coverage for citizens and health care is majorly for profit. The country doesn’t provide healthcare for all its citizens. Most of its citizens are covered by private insurance or no insurance at all. How health insurance coverage affects health and mortality projects on the data of the population that seek healthcare without health insurance versus those with insurance. This largely reflects the general population’s quality of life as a healthy population would be productive in their jobs. The inability to be able to receive health care whenever and wherever needed should be considered inhumanity of all time.
Any citizen or resident of the United State is subjected to tax regardless of being a government employee or in the private sector.
