The sixth and last debate has piqued my interest because it is the most visible thing happening in our present world, and that is globalization. As a citizen living and enjoying the advantages of globalization in my nation, I can see and feel its impact on my country. As products and people are transferred to various countries, their culture and beliefs are also conveyed. Their human rights, which stem from the land they reside in and their tribes, go hand in hand with their beliefs and customs.
Globalization and Human Rights
We can use the different languages of different continents and places in the world as a rough indicator of how many cultures and beliefs exist in the world. We all know that there are thousands of languages in our world today, and we are most commonly aware of some of them because we live and experience them in some way when we hear them speak their language. When we convert these thousands of languages into a measure of how many cultures there are in the world, we can get a rough estimate of the number of people who exchange cultures and those who influence others through the human rights that they are born with. Together with the invention of mechanical teleportation, traveling to other continents has never been simpler since fairs and tickets have become more affordable, making them more accessible to the middle class.
The question “Does Globalization Advance Human Rights?” is what makes this intriguing. “Some may argue that globalization has altered and made other people’s human rights incompatible with their own or that the number of human rights they enjoy surpasses the minimal number required to live free and just lives. In the grand scheme of things, however, globalization is an eye-opening movement that allows all countries to see that many more cultures and beliefs should be taken into account. Globalization advances human rights in the sense that it modifies and updates them to keep up with the current flow of what the country’s citizens require.
