Up to this point I have this feeling that this writing course has benefited my abilities by increasing my confidence in regard to academic writing. It has introduced me to a writing style that was unfamiliar of before and I could not have mastered on my own. I have written three essays for this course and they have challenged me dearly to improve my writing skills. The first essay introduced me to the style of writing academic papers. In this essay, I focused on how I can express my own ideas effectively rather than implementing other ideas. The introduction and conclusion parts of this essay proved to be challenging to me, but I tried my best to demonstrate the new ideas that I had acquired. Although I did not do much to pose questions for the readers as they read the essay, I tried to accomplish that even though not at the standards of a professional writer. What I accomplished in this essay was much significant from my previous essays. The second essay appeared to be challenging since it required me to do a critical analyse works from other authors. However, I overcame the challenges when I learnt the effectiveness of using drafts in the writing process. Before I began writing this essay, I did not know how to utilize revision comments to improve my ideas.
