1 What are the five needs, in order by level, of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs?
The five needs as stipulated by Maslow are physiological, safety, love/ belonging, self-esteem, and self-actualization. The needs are arranged by order as they are postulated in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. These needs are aimed at describing human motivation.
2. What does Maslow mean when he states these needs form a “hierarchy of prepotency?”
The concept of the hierarchy of prepotency suggests that individuals must sequentially address their needs. Needs that are lower in the hierarchy must be addressed before those higher in the hierarchy. Maslow suggested that an individual can only move to a higher need if the lower one is truly met.
