Information may be defined as data which has been processed in a way that it becomes meaningful to the receiver. Usually, information is specific and is organized for the purpose of presenting meaning and relevance in a given context. Also, it helps in increasing understanding and decreasing uncertainty. It is essential to note that information is valuable because it may affect behavior and may also help in making decisions. For example, a manager who receives information about decreased net profit in his company may use the acquired information to cut financial spending.
