In the current socioeconomic environment, people seem to be in some rush that cannot be explained. The rush ranges from the pursuit of career advancement to that of getting basic pay to settle one’s bills. It can sometimes turn out to be quite a rat race, as the pursuit is usually never-ending since the results at the end of specific periods are usually short of the desired targets. What does this mean? It simply implies that in life, there are very rare scenarios where one’s pursuit of his or her goals or dreams, come to complete and satisfactory fruition. This raises the question, should one live to work, or work to live? Importantly, the need to provide for the family, need to put food on the table and the requirement for paying rent and mortgages explains why we work to live and not live to work.
