In Gateways to Art: Understanding the Visual Arts, it has been mentioned that dry drawing materials are mainly chalk-based and carbon-based. When it comes to creating a drawing, the artist first needs to select whether to draw using wet media or dry media. It is easy for him to apply any of the drawing materials based on his requirements and the surface he has chosen. Blending is mostly done by wetting the drawing or rubbing it for some time.
