Last Night at the Lobster
One character that would resonate with me is Manny. I have had the privilege to have several friends who I have seen work in different environments under different levels. A good example of such people is my friend Johny. Johny was one of the most hardworking employees I have ever seen. He was working for my father at a gas station. Johny ensured that the sales improved and that the station was among the first to open in the morning. The working condition of a hotel can sometimes be depressing. As the book shows, some customers were chaotic and complained about everything. We are told that the hotel's crowd turnout was small but more demanding (Saville 1). The spoiled toddler and the office party were draining the workers, but Manny managed to keep the situation under control.
Chapter 1
Manny is a dedicated manager. Manny is disappointed that the Lobster is about to shut down, yet everything seems to go well. While other employees were giving up based on the prevailing circumstances, Manny remained shoulder-high and was willing to deliver his best. I would like to work for Manny as a manager because Manny would ensure that the company continues operating despite different challenges.
Chapter 2
The customers are very pleased with the restaurants and have specific waiters who serve them. The staff seems tired and disappointed by the fact that the Lobster will be shut down. Some staff do not show up for work, while those who are present are highly demotivated. Some of the customers cannot believe that the Lobster is closing down. One of the customers asks, "What's this I hear about you guys closing down? That right?" (O'nan 84).
