Dining out is becoming a normal and casual thing in this dynamically changing world. The world has grown busy and therefore the best time to meet is during dinners in hotels. Although dining out is casual it is necessary for an individual to know how to conduct him/herself in a dining setting. Good conduct is important in both social and professional situations and thus it is mandatory to learn a few basics. In school etiquette dinner is a special evening of etiquette, a formal training held at least once in a semester; the training is meant to equip students with dining ethics. The training is essential since most employers are currently interviewing candidates at dinners. Dining etiquette is important to students’ professional lives and career paths.
Proper etiquette is essential in enhancing an individual’s self-image. During dinner, a potential employer is constantly judging the interviewee based on his/her conduct. The interviewer uses what he/she observes during the dinner to make conclusions about the behavior of an individual. In most cases, people believe that the behavior an individual portrays at dinners reflects the behavior of a person in the community and business world. The image an individual portrays in the first encounter with employers sticks to the employers and if it is bad chances of losing the job opportunity is high. People with good etiquette portray good self-image to employers and thus the employers also believe that such people can give the company a good image. Therefore, just by portraying good dining etiquette an individual can get a job and become a good marketing representative to an organization.
