Loyalty
In general, loyalty is the faithfulness and devotion of a person, group or community to the country. Some philosophers, however, argue that loyalty is interpersonal and that it has nothing to do with the country or the nation (Foust 161). Instead, it occurs when a person devotes himself to another person, meaning the object of loyalty can neither be a country nor any other non-living thing. The definition of loyalty in political science and law is different from its meanings from a business point of view. Loyalty in the business sector happens when a brand or company keeps providing the customers with top-quality products and continue engaging the employees through varying promotion programs.
According to Mathew A. Foust, loyalty programs were first brought to the light when businessmen realized that the competitive advantages did not exist anymore because of the introduction of a large number of products (Foust 159). In such circumstances, they started paying more attention to bringing forth innovative and customer-friendly products; in the meantime, they intended to keep their best and most competitive employees for long. For this purpose, they facilitated workers with better salary packages and free insurance, along with free transportation and medical services.
For a religious scholar, loyalty is when someone bows before Jesus Christ and turns to them for all of his needs. According to Eric Lau and Candy Leung, no one is able to serve two masters, meaning he should either choose one of them or quit on both of them (Lau & Leung 14). In simple words, it can be said that loyalty can be with only a single master, which is none other than Jesus Christ.
