The Anglo-Texans fought their war for their own interests and to protect their people from exploiters. In their struggle for independence, these people were able to emerge victorious from Mexico, however, there were also many internal conflicts and disputes that had to be settled. From the period of 1821 to 1836, the turbulence of battling among different parties. Aside from these, the different states under the American Constitution were fighting in terms of trade. A big factor which contributed to the division of different states was because each state had their own circulating form of money. This difference in currency made it hard for states to unite in economic efforts, and the people did not trust their own government regarding their issues and demands.
The Mexicans on the other hand had just finished their revolutionary war against Spain and were preoccupied about their internal affairs. Although these forces agreed to fight for freedom, agreeing upon who should take the place of power and rule was not an easy question.
