A Comparison of Two Journals That Discuss the Topic Mindset and Learning
The essay compares two journals that discuss on the topic mindset and learning. The topic expounds on the way right type of mindset that is appropriate for learning and understanding most of the respective concepts. One of the article shows the way one needs to develop and exhibit growth in the person’s mindset for the person to learn and understand most of the concepts that the person should understand. The other author focuses on the type of habits and behaviors that the learner needs to exhibit for him or her to learn well important and relevant concepts to the person’s life. Scholars argue out that there are some behaviors fit for learning, while some behaviors inhibit learning, which one can prove through psychotic aspect. The paper compares and contrasts the two journals by the name “Developing Growth Mindset” and “Habits and beliefs that guide self-regulated learning: Do they vary with mindset, which discuss on the topic mindset and learning under aspects like standpoints of the authors, communication media used, themes, topic of discussion, the preferable target audience and ethical concerns used in the journals.
One of the conspicuous comparable aspects is the standpoint from which the authors tackle the topic. The first article from Eduardo Briceño views mindset and learning from the development and growth standpoint. According to the author, as one grows, the person’s experiences, inspirational aspects around the person, and aspirations that enhance the person’s growth process (Briceño 2). The hypothesis is true as one can easily guess the ability of one from the behavior the person exhibits. From a different angle, a classroom context can explain the hypothesis, as students with certain habits such as concentration, focus, and hard work understand concept easily and perform well as compared to students with contrary habits.
The other comparable aspects are the print mediums used in communication. The first article by Eduardo Briceño has several pictures, texts, graphs and appealing fonts as compared to the second journal. The issue inclusive aspects in the medium used for communication are a pivotal factor that writers need to consider. The reason behind the argument is that most of the readers desire succinct materials, which are more appealing as compared to materials that are less appealing and catchy to the eye.
