Over the years, different poets have used two different forms of poetry, free verse and fixed verse poetry, to convey their message. One of the well-known poets who used fixed verse poetry is Shakespeare in his sonnets. Although fixed verse poems have a rhythm and rhyme scheme that helps create musicality, the lack of restrictions in free verse poetry opens up opportunities for poets to clearly express their message without straining to meet these requirements, thus managing to convey their message better.
