Classes in the First Semester Online
A typical undergraduate course is self-guided and can be done at a student's own pace. In particular, a person needs to register for the course and prepare relevant materials as indicated in the syllabus. Currently, numerous resources, such as textbooks, notes, podcasts, videos, and articles, can be found on the Internet. An undergraduate course entails studying independently since it is not like high school classes where students have a teacher explaining everything. Additionally, partner projects are less likely since people mostly communicate through discussion boards and emails. With the recent implementation of COVID-19 prevention protocols, many students choose to take online courses instead of in-person classes. With this in mind, numerous colleges want new students to enroll in their online courses such that they can study remotely. Besides, assignments can be overwhelming, particularly those with short deadlines at the end of the semester just before exams commence. In addition, due to the lack of experience in attending physical classes, students are not used to the kind of distractions that come from that setting. Making them sit in a classroom could be distracting for them and, therefore, other students. Spreading the effect of forcing this on these students to others who are there for more hands-on education. Since these students are unfamiliar with in-person classes, they spend more time preparing and struggle to adjust to the higher level of education as well as the school setup. Notably, in the digital era, many schools have adopted or are implementing relevant technologies asso...
