I think that campus recreation is important because students need to learn not to use up all their time in campus study and social activities. Recreation programs of any form allow the individual to relax, meditate, and relieve stress. This contributes to better mental health and positive energy. University or college level is the highest point of education. Young adults are being prepared for the real world. One of the ways to do so is by teaching them to set aside private recreation time.
