The Korean War ended after three years of severe battle between the different parties. After the exit of President Truman, President Eisenhower visited Korea and assisted in creating a peace agreement. As a result of the treaty, a new border between North Korea and South Korea was demarcated (History.com Editors). The zone between the two countries was also demilitarized. This formed a new diplomatic front between the US and Korean nations today.
